Maine Higher Ed and Business Leaders Call for Inclusion of Immigration Reform within the Budget Reconciliation Package
Join the American Business Immigration Coalition and University and business leaders on Monday, August 30th, 2021, at 11:15 AM EST to call on Congress to ensure immigration reforms are included within the upcoming budget reconciliation package. The reforms would create pathways to citizenship for Dreamers, farmworkers, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) holders, and essential workers.
The presidents of St. Joseph’s College of Maine and University of New England will also release a letter signed by the Maine Independent Colleges Association to Maine Sens. Susan Collins (R) and Angus King (I) urging them to renew their previous ardent support for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) permit holders and Dreamers in current congressional discussions on immigration reform.
