Our Work Across the Country

ABIC is a national leader in the fight for federal and local immigration solutions. ABIC exists to win legal status and citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants, and provide employers with the high and low-skilled talent that they need to grow and compete. ABIC believes that immigration reform is economically important, morally right, and politically smart.

Our mission, to win citizenship for the 11 million through bipartisan legislation in Congress, will be accomplished across the nation through credible, meaningful partnerships between business leaders, civic and community leaders, and immigrants’ rights advocates that have been established by ABIC nationwide. At the core of these alliances are the immigrants who help sustain our economy as workers, consumers, and taxpayers.

This critical work is being carried out by ABIC in 16 states where we have active membership: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. Among our members are 1,200 CEOs, retired CEOs, donor class, chambers and associations.

In 2021, ABIC sponsored more than 60 state-based virtual and in person events and lifted up the pro-immigration reform voices of businesses and immigrants by advancing their authorship of dozens of opinion editorials in local, regional, and national news media. We also met with 41 Republican senators, Moderate Democrat Senators, Democratic leadership in the House and Senate and with the White House. ABIC continues to work to break the partisan gridlock that stands in the way of pragmatic immigration reforms supported by voters across the U.S. by overwhelming margins.
